Sometimes it can be hard to think of a great gift, especially if you’re on a budget! If you’re having trouble trying to find a great present, our Salford self storage team have come up with some good ideas to get your inspiration going.
Below are the four main things to consider when you are choosing a present for someone.
What are their interests?
The perfect gift should be something related to their interests, so for example if the person is interested in classic cars, you can get them something related to that. There are so many things that you could get depending on your budget; from getting a painting of all the cars they have had in their life (yourlifeincars.com), to getting an original owner’s manual for a car they used to own or still have!
What do they need?
Another source of inspiration could be thinking about what they need – especially if it’s something they might not buy for themselves. For the person who has just moved home, you could get them a framed print, or a lamp – whatever you think they might need in their new home. Alternatively, if there’s an item someone always borrows from you, it could be nice to get them their own version.
Something you enjoy doing together
Think about things you like to do together, whether that’s watching the same TV shows, doing fun days out, or going walking together. This is a great one because you can find something to suit your budget, from gifting them a trip away together, to getting them a shirt or mug with something you both love on.
Something sentimental
Most people always appreciate a sentimental gift, whether that’s a memory that you share, or something you know means a lot to them. One great example of a sentimental gift is getting a photo retouched – there a lots of people who can edit photo’s and make them clearer, or even retouch damaged photos. This is a lovely gift, that doesn’t need to be expensive, but they will appreciate. Another sentimental item you could give is a sound wave keyring of their favourite song.

- What do they need: They had just moved into their first flat, and they didn’t have a clock.
- Something you enjoy doing together: We both love musicals
- Something sentimental: They had just moved in with their boyfriend, and the music from Grease was something they loved as a couple.
