Once again The Store Room has the honour of being Mission HQ for Mission Christmas for both Rock FM’s Cash for Kids (covering Lancashire), and Pulse 1’s Cash for Kids (covering West Yorkshire). Our Preston and Leeds self storage sites have donated space for the charity to collect, sort and distribute donations of toys and other gifts to disadvantaged children.

Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas appeal aims to make sure that disadvantaged children and young people can wake up with a gift on Christmas day. The charity collects and buys new, unopened presents, and gives them to families who are struggling and need support. In 2020 Cash for Kids raised over £19.2 million and supported 396,639 children. What a fantastic achievement and we hope to help them achieve great things again this year.

The work Cash for Kids does is more vital now than ever. In 2019-2020 there were 4.3 million children living in poverty – that’s 31% of children in the UK. If you are able to, any support you can give, whether that’s picking up an extra present or simply donating money online, is greatly appreciated. Let’s make this Christmas great for everyone!

We would also like to give a huge congratulations to Olivia Thomas who was inspired by Marcus Rashford in school. She decided to raise money for Cash for Kids after hearing that some children wouldn’t wake up to a present on Christmas Day. She has run 2k every day for 2 weeks and raised over £2500! What a brilliant achievement, and it’s wonderful to see children helping other children. Well done Olivia! Please donate if you can.
