Another Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas has come to a close, and what a brilliant year it has been. We wanted to take some time to reflect and celebrate the amazing achievements, and the wonderful people behind the scenes who make Mission Christmas a success.
For those who don’t know, Mission Christmas is a campaign run by Cash for Kids that aims to support disadvantaged and young children who are affected by poverty, and aims to ensure they wake up to a gift on Christmas day. In 2024, 16% of parents or carers surveyed were unable to afford Christmas presents for their children due to financial constraints, and this is why Mission Christmas is so important.
The Store Room Leeds and The Store Room in Rotherham both acted as “Mission HQ” for Cash for Kids North and West Yorkshire and Cash for Kids South Yorkshire and Derbyshire respectively. We provide space for the “elves” (staff and volunteers) to collect, sort and distribute the donations they receive.
This year Mission Christmas raised £16.9 million which made sure that 317,881 children across the UK received a present from Father Christmas on Christmas Day!
Cash for Kids North and West Yorkshire helped 16,600 children.
Cash for Kids South Yorkshire and Derbyshire helped 17,032 children.
This is a phenomenal achievement, and we would like to say a massive well done to the Cash for Kids team. It has been fantastic to see the generosity of everyone over the festive season.
All of us at The Store Room would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has dropped off gifts, donated, and volunteered to make Mission Christmas as success. Without your support many children would have woken up to nothing this Christmas.
