Angels United FC and The Store Room

We are proud to share that The Store Room in Salford are now supporting Angels United FC, not just a Manchester based football club, but a peer-to-peer support group for families who have lost a baby or child. It's a difficult subject, but that's why the charity is so important, so we wanted to take a moment to explain who they are, what they do, and why we are so glad to be able to support them.
About Angels United FC
The charity was formed in 2020 by 13 days from different walks of life, who had one heart breaking thing in common: they had lost a baby or child at any age, or stage of pregnancy. What started as an idea in a WhatsApp group became a football team. Their idea was simple - to use the power of football to #BreakTheSilence around baby or child loss, and give fathers and other family members a safe space to talk.
They describe themselves as the club no one want's to be part of, but that is what makes their work so important. Everything they offer is free, including club subs or signing on fees which they were able to remove in September 2022, so that anyone can reach out. No one is ever turned away whatever their age, fitness, or ability. Support doesn't stop at the whistle - they host coffee mornings, walks, and surround you with people who have been through the same thing as you, and are always ready to listen.
Pink, Blue and Always Together
Angels United's distinctive pink and blue kit was designed in memory of every child taken too soon, and each player wear's their child's name on the back of their shirt. They play for them, and carry them on their shoulders every game.
Their impact goes far beyond the pitch. The club have been featured on the BBC and ITV, won Community Sports Project of the Year in 2023, and won the Making Football Positive award at the Manchester FC Awards in 2024. You can learn more about their story on their history page.

How We're Supporting
The Store Room in Salford has become Angels United FC's official storage partner, and will be providing them with free storage space on an ongoing basis. They will use this to store their promotional items and equipment; from banners and fundraising items, to books and essential bereavement resources.
Dan Beer, a spokesperson from The Store Room said "Being part of the local community is important to us, and we feel lucky to play a small part in the incredible work Angels United FC do for fathers and families across Greater Manchester."
