At The Store Room, we are focused on reducing our impact on the environment, through improved sustainability initiatives and actions that reduce our carbon footprint. Our new self storage facility in Solihull is a prime example of our commitment to improved sustainability at our sites.

Sustainability Benefits

Aptly located on The Green (on Stratford Road), we focused on ensuring that our new self storage facility would have a focus on sustainability. This means that The Store Room in Solihull benefits from;

• Solar Power: We worked with a nationwide supplier to ensure we fitted our building with the latest and most efficient solar panels to generate electricity for use within the facility and to be able to put back into the grid.
• A+ Energy Performance Rating: This is the highest rating for commercial properties and signifies it is highly efficient, generating more energy from renewable sources that it consumes, achieving net-zero emissions.
• Proximity Activated Lighting: Our corridors are fitted with sensors to allow for proximity active lighting which means our corridors are bright when being used by our customers but we don’t waste electricity. We have also used energy- saving LED lighting to further improve our energy rating.
• Electric car charging points: The Store Room in Solihull currently benefits from 3 electric car charging points.
• Creating areas of bio-diversity: We have planted several trees and hedges, as well as wild flowers to improve the area’s bio-diversity. Not only does it look great, but it also encourages ecosystem to thrive.
• Sustainable Construction: As Solihull is our newest facility, we worked hard to ensure that sustainability was built in to our construction.
