Following the relaxation of these rules, as well as the influence of the Stamp Duty holiday, the market saw more mortgages being approved overall in 2020 than in the whole of 2019.

Self Storage and Moving House
Using self storage is both a helpful and often crucial stage of moving house. Household customers use self storage for a number of different reasons, commonly between house moves; this is especially relevant at the moment, with Rightmove reporting in January 2021 that many house sale transactions are experiencing delays in the process. These delays mean that people can be caught between properties, and in these cases storage provides a necessary solution. Longer-term storage is also often required when customers are downsizing, and no longer have space for all of the items they want to keep.

The city of Leeds experienced a surge in the house market at the end of 2020, reflected in sales prices rising by more than 6%.
