Our storage specialists who work at each of our locations have well over 100 years of combined self storage experience – so the chances are, that if there is a question relating to self storage, they’ve been asked it before!
It also means that they know which questions our customers have that get asked all the time. That’s why we asked Tracey, our highly experienced manager at our Manchester storage facility to tell us the questions she gets asked the most as she goes about helping her customers find the best storage unit for them (and don’t worry – she’ll also give us the answers!). Here goes…
1. Will my items be safe?
Security is absolutely our top priority at The Store Room. We offer safe, secure, steel walled internal storage rooms and the best thing is that each unit is individually padlocked and the customers keep the keys to their unit. On top of this, we also have 24-hour CCTV, alarm systems and staff on site at all times when the storage facility is open. We always want to be able to give our customers peace of mind when they use us.
2. Do you have different sizes of storage?
Yes absolutely! For example, here at the Manchester storage site our customers can choose between over 20 different sizes. That then leads to the question of what size is the right one. That’s where we come in – we will talk through what items you have with you and then recommend the best option for you.
3. Is there a minimum period that I need to store for?
This is a question we get asked all the time in Manchester! The answer is no – we have customers who store for just a week, right up to customers (particularly business storage customers) who have been with us for over a decade!
4. I’m not sure how long I will need the storage for – is that OK?
Yes absolutely. In fact most customers who use us are not 100% sure how long exactly they will need to use storage for (especially those in the house moving process), which is why you pay for storage on a 4-weekly basis and we only ask for 2 weeks notice when you want to end the contract – effectively it is ‘pay-as-you-go’.
5. How long does it take to get set up?
To set up the storage usually takes 5 to 10 minutes at the storage facility and you are guided through the process by one of our team – it’s not a long and complicated process at all!
6. I need storage but I’m not sure when I will need to start it from…can I still make sure I will have a unit?
Yes you can. We have a flexible reservation system where you can reserve a storage unit in advance to guarantee the availability and the price – and you only need to give us an approximate date when you think you will need to start it from. You can then simply update us when you have a firmer date.
7. Can I rent a storage room for business use?
Yes you can! In fact a good percentage of our customers rent a room for just that reason. We have all types of business storage customers at the Manchester facility – from plumbers, to electricians, accountants, events companies and online/eBay traders – plus many more types.
