Demand for flexible space drives expansion at the store room in Leicester

9th June 2010

We're delighted to announce that due to customer demand at our storage site in Leicester, we will be dramatically increasing the number of self storage units, workshops and office space available there in the coming months.

One of the biggest reasons for why this expansion is needed has been the growing levels of business customers coming to us to solve their storage problem. In these uncertain economic times, businesses are increasingly wary of signing in to long and expensive commercial leases, so as an alternative they have come to the store room where they have complete control when it comes to their storage space. We cater for all types of business, from the sole trader looking for somewhere safe to keep their tools, to the large public sector organisation who need value for money (now more than ever), but still need a safe, secure storage facility for their equipment and archives.

This has been complimented with the continuing popularity of our service with domestic customers, who perhaps need storage in between house moves, or who are students who are going home for the summer and want to keep their possessions safe and secure whilst away.

There's no long term commitment, no hidden charges, state of the art security systems and best of all, our sites are staffed with dedicated storage specialists at all times during opening hours, so there's always someone there to speak to whenever you need them.

the store room's Operations Manager Paul Siner recently spoke to 'Midlands Business News' about the exciting developments at our Leicester site, and below is the article and interview taken from the publications website:

The Store Room gets extra space in Leicester

Self-storage provider, The Store Room, is investing £50,000 into its Leicester storage and office facility to support growing demand for its services.

The Store Room will be expanding alongside its current 20,000sq ft facility on Hinckley Road in Leicester by an extra 10,000sq ft in July 2010. This will allow for 60 additional storage rooms, workshops and offices, suitable for start up businesses or domestic household storage customers.

In the last 12 months, the Leicester facility has seen a 40% increase sales, with savvy customers using its bespoke storage solutions for various needs. This, along with a significant 50% of people now booking via The Store Room's online portal, has driven the need for extra space.

Paul Siner, operations manager at The Store Room, said: "We are excited about the Leicester expansion as it will allow us to cater for more start-up and entrepreneurial businesses in the region. We currently have very limited availability and the expansion can't come soon enough. In the current economic climate, where long leases aren't attractive to business owners, they need something flexible and possibly short-term that they can grow from."
